What Uttar Basti is
Uttar Basti (उत्तर बस्ती) is a specialised form of Basti in which medicated oil or herbal decoction is administered directly into the uterus through the reproductive tract, rather than rectally as in standard Basti. It is performed under careful clinical supervision, typically timed to a specific window in the menstrual cycle, and following proper preparation. Because of its direct route of administration, it is considered one of the more advanced Panchakarma procedures and is used only where clearly indicated.
